How much do we know about our economy?

Once upon a time there was a little warbler that decided not to fly south for the winter with the rest of his flock. As the days grew shorter and the nights cooler, he enjoyed the beautiful colors of the leaves and stood high on his perch singing a joyful song every morning.
One day he awoke to find himself covered in snow and freezing cold. There were no leaves on the tree to protect him from the wind and he was miserable. He stood there as long as he could and decided that maybe he should fly south after all. Unfortunately, his wings were now frozen and he instead fell to the ground where he lay in the snow cursing his fate and suddenly afraid that he was going to die.
Just then a cow came along and, standing directly over the freezing bird, dropped an enormous cow pie right on top of him!
Lying there in a pile of hot steaming manure, he thought to himself, “This stinks, but at least, I’m warm.” He was so happy that he started singing at the top of his lungs. This was a good sign… life is good and was bound to get better. He knew that somehow he’d get out of this mess. His singing attracted the attention of a passing cat looking for some breakfast. Needless to say, the bird was saved from his predicament only to find himself now a meal for the cat.
There are three morals to this story:
Number one: “Not everyone who dumps on you is your enemy.”
Number two: “Not everyone who digs you out of a mess is your friend.”
Number three: “If you’re warm and happy with what’s been dumped on you already, keep your mouth shut!”
If you're wondering what that has to do with the title of this post, click on the title and see what that's about.
